Hand-carved wooden statue of Airmid, the Celtic goddess associated with healing, medicinal herbs and herbal wisdom in Irish mythology. A member of the Tuatha Dé Danann, Airmid was the daughter of the healer Dian Cécht and sister of Miach.

According to Irish mythology, after the death of her brother Miach, 365 healing herbs grew from his grave. Airmid gathered the herbs and carefully arranged them according to their healing properties, preserving their ancient knowledge. Her father later scattered the herbs, and the complete knowledge of their uses was lost to humanity.

Airmid represents the connection between healing, plants, nature and ancient herbal knowledge. This makes her a particularly meaningful figure for those drawn to Celtic mythology, herbal traditions and the natural world.
