Hand-carved wooden statue of Nuada Airgetlám, the legendary king of the Tuatha Dé Danann in Irish Celtic mythology. Known as Nuada of the Silver Hand, he is one of the most important figures among the ancient Celtic gods.

Nuada was the first king of the Tuatha Dé Danann. During the First Battle of Mag Tuired, he lost his hand in combat. Because a king was traditionally expected to be physically whole, Nuada temporarily lost his kingship. The healer Dian Cécht created a remarkable silver hand for him, giving rise to his famous epithet Airgetlám, meaning "Silver Hand."

Nuada represents kingship, strength, courage, leadership, justice and restoration. His legendary sword was also one of the four great treasures of the Tuatha Dé Danann.
